Highland Village hosted 8th Annual Art Festival

The Shops at Highland Village partnered with The City of Highland Village to present the eighth annual Highland Village Art Festival on Saturday May 7th, 2022. This year the event included 46 artist vendors, displaying everything from paintings, handcrafted cards, crocheted items, jewelry, metal works, stained glass, hand tooled leather goods, pottery, carved wood pieces, and more.

The Shops provided entertainment that included a balloon artist, face painter, and costumed characters. In addition, the center hosted a wood working group that was hand turning wood cars for kids, an obstacle course bounce house, and a community art activity that had an artist assist children in creating a 9 by 12 foot canvas painting, representing The City of Highland Village. The mural will be on display at The Shops, before being donated to a local school.

There was also a showcase for local children’s groups to perform during the event that featured multiple groups on stage ranging from dance troupes, solo singers, a cellist, a pianist, and the local School of Rock academy. The event culminated with a jazz concert featuring the Rosana Eckert Quartet on stage in Central Park.

This event was a huge success and we look forward to growing the vendors and attendance next year!
